"I am the Way to a True Life in Me"
Title: "I WOULD talk with
you of chestnuts. I would talk with you of Life."
(Notebook XLVIX, pp. 135--134)
Live Jesus
St. John of the Cross
Monday, December 14, 1998
Dear Jesus and Holy Mother,
[Jesus speaks.....]
Daughters and sons, hear Me. I mark you as My own in Baptism. I place upon
you an undeniable Sign: My Own. I pray that what is visible to MY Eyes:
the Indelible Sign of Baptism, becomes visible to YOUR eyes by how you live within
My Spirit! .....Daughter, what is it I have presented to you? (My Lord,
You have impressed upon me the thought of the chestnuts I have in our refrigerator.)
Daughter, continue. (Yes, Lord. I have even looked up
"chestnut" in the cookbook. It has been a food staple in many parts of
Your world, Lord. In our area, Lord, it is much associated with this time of Your
year.)
I urge you, child, continue..... (Yes, Lord. It must be prepared by
slashing its shell and then boiling or roasting it. It needs to have the tough outer
shell removed and even the thin membrane inside before eating, my Lord.)
And here we are, talking of chestnuts, child? God and His people, discussing
chestnuts? (Yes, Lord.) Explain what you understand. (My
Lord, that we are like chestnuts, growing in Your world. Some of us are picked to be
prepared.....to be uncovered. But first we must be slashed with Your Cross.
And then we are Baptized. And we are changed. But we still must be
peeled.....and peeled to be of value, Lord.) And this chestnut, child.....?
(Lord, it was a favorite of my father. Lord, I think I like
chestnuts because my Dad liked them.) My little chestnuts are the favorite of My
Father, too, child. Sarah, your peeling has resulted in Knowledge. (My Jesus,
YOU are the Teacher. All is by Your Grace, by Your Spirit.....Sweet, Holy Spirit.)
And so, the Lesson is, that unless you are willing to undergo conversion and to
continue to participate in My Process in you, there will be no new life or purpose to your
life. For you to see clearly, My Way, you must be willing to be picked by Me and
converted by Me and peeled by Me; that by My use of you, your being might feed the world.
Perhaps your part [of the world], perhaps another. But always as you
are pliable in My Hands.
See? Some would look and see a brown nut. Another looks and sees much
potential. If you come to look through MY Eyes, then life will have new meaning.
And you are ALL invited, by the Gifts of My Spirit, to have this Vision, to improve
this Vision, to USE this Vision. For Me!
I WOULD talk with you of chestnuts. I would talk with you of Life. True
Life in Me. I care for EVERY part of you. But you must be willing to meet Me
in your heart. Because if you stop at your head, you will retard your growth.
Every detail of your life is where I am and where I want to be with you. I
pray you will notice Me there.
Quote the verse, child. (Yes, Lord. The cookbook quotes a childhood
riddle about the chestnut: "First I am frosted. Then I am beaten.
Then I am roasted. Then I am eaten.")
The chestnut succumbs to the process of Life. Will you? For all time I
have known you. My Father created you. I have died for you. I have felt
the ice of those who refuse Me. I have been beaten. I have been killed.
I have given you My Body, My Blood; and so, I am eaten. Come, join Me.
I call you to Life. True Life in Me. I ask you for willingness.
To walk with Me. To talk with Me. To be with Me. In this Life.
That as you are renewed, we might be together forever in My Kingdom in Heaven.
But for now, let us be together. You and I. I will show you the way.
*I* am the Way. Come, I will let you see through My Eyes. Come, I shall
improve your vision. I give you My Own. I am your Gift. Open ME.
Eat Me: My Body, My Blood. DO let Me absorb your goodness, your
heart, your soul. Come, be in Me. I am your Teacher. I am your Lord.
I am your God. I am your Vision.
In Me. Fully, peeled and ready for the Harvest. Come, and serve mankind
by being in Me now. The world will put you to the test; but in Me, the Victory is
won. In Me. Do.....let us be. One. Amen.
(Nm. 24:2-7, 15-17; Ps. 25:4-9; Mt. 21:23-27)
With Love, in the Two Hearts,
His Sarah
