First Week of Lent, Monday, March 2, 1998
Dear Jesus and Holy Mother,
O my Lord God, I look at the end, the point, of this pen. What shall flow from it? I try to compose myself. To still my heart. To be in bowed silence before You. I hear some squawking geese fly overhead! Lord? Is that what my noisy heart sounds like to You? Holy Spirit, empty me completely. From head to toe. Holy Mother, Mary, pray for me, that I may be filled with Truth. Amen!!
[The Lord speaks.....]
Listening, sounds, noise, confusion. Deterrents, temptations, distractions. Tangents, flinging, pulling away. From Me. I am the Center, the Focus, of your Love, your Life. IN Me. Not AWAY from Me! And how shall you approach Me? How shall you arrive? How shall you stay? What method shall you use? How shall you be marked, sealed in My covenant? How shall you be known, seen, as My Own? What will mark you, define you, as separate from the ways of the world? Your life. Your witness. The statement of yourself before the ways, the wiles of the world. Be marked by your way of life.Who lives according to My Law? Who executes it in Love, not just blind obedience? Who meets Me with cool drink? Who mops My Face upon the Way to My Cross. Who stands and cries with Me? Who prays for Me? Who hears My Cry for food and tries to satiate Me?
Who casts lots for My Garments? Who chides and derides Me? Who looks away in horror because My Flesh has become too ugly a sight? Who cannot stand the stench of My Flesh which is wounded and sweaty? Who flees in fear rather than come to My aid? Who fights for My cause, despite any adversity? Who buries Me when I have no grave? Who visits My death scene? Who comforts My Mother? Who stands for all I have been? Whose life declares..... that I have even been among you?
Prayer AND good works. Let no one tell you that one without the other will work to your behalf! My Own Words: follow them closely, yes. But then, LIVE them! I AM the Way and the Truth and the Life. I AM. I am action. Action of heart, of mind of body. Reaching out. Charity! Works of Charity! Prayer can become charity when you interact with Me. I can ask that you would pray; that you would BE for the sake of another. Shall you listen? Shall you DO as I ask? Will you run but not grow weary? You shall tire quickly if the work is not Mine. But in My Service, the Purpose is clear. And I Grace you. Have you asked Me what it is you shall do? I would answer. Have you listened? My Will consists of precisely what you should do. But it is for you to be in prayer, that when you act, it is what is truly pleasing to Me. It is a matter of heart. Of yours unto Mine.
How shall you do what shall be done? With Love. Children, if Love is missing, the value of your action is as if wasted. For to stand in an empty forest and tell Me of your Love is one thing, because I can hear you. But to hear of your Love from the lips of the one you have served, is music to My ears. The heart touched by your prayer. The heart has felt Love. The heart lifted from fear. Your hands have touched in Love. Do you see? It is HOW you do it with WHAT is inside you! I see hearts. I see yours!
O little ones, have you not heard? Do unto others as you would have them do unto you! Have I not spoken these words? Are they not a Rule for life? My lambs, DO hear Me. My lambs, DO LIVE ME! How you have lived your life will become the statement of how you believe in Me! You have been saved, yes. But how you declare that belief will be understood by the way you have lived your life! I have lived in Love. I have died in Love. I AM Love!
Love covers a multitude of sin. All virtue without Love is worthless. Why? Because I am Love and without Me, you are nothing. All is for naught. Your breath is but a mere suggestion of Life. A shadow. A whimper. An imitation of reality. *I* am Reality! *I* am Life! True Life! I am a Way to a True Life in Me. I am God!
Children, reading without growing is worthless. I call you to BE in Me. Not to remain in a state of stagnation. I call you to burst forth from your tombs! I bring Life! True Life in God! Yes! True Life in God! I am God. I am He Who speaks!
Lambs, shall I bless your actions? Are they presentable to Me? Do you have any actions to present? What shall I say to you. Child, you cannot hide from Me. Soon there shall be nothing but you and I. And in our moment, what shall you say? What shall I see in your heart. My Light of Truth pierces every corner, every cell of your heart. In Me there is no darkness. If I could show you one sin, you would flee from it. If I could show you one moment of inaction, you would suffocate in its lack of breath.
I shake My Head! O children! L-I-S-T-E-N to Me! P-L-E-A-S-E! LIVE MY WORD! Live in Me. Love in Me. Be in Me! No idle hearts! Be busy about the business of God. Be in Love. Now and forever. Amen. +
