Second Sunday of Lent, March 8, 1998
Dear Jesus and Holy Mother,
[The Lord speaks.....]
Things are not always what they appear to be. Unless one looks into the heart of the matter, one can even miss the True Meaning in Life. Tell it, child. (Yes, Jesus. As I sit here before You, I have heard just outside the window what sounded like the footprints of a man, walking about in our back yard. Nervously, Lord, I have parted the venetian blinds to see it is a little gray squirrel, cautiously hunting for hidden food. The sound of his footprints is being magnified as he walks on the hardened, frozen leaves.)Child, what have you thought of next? (My Jesus, I have thought of the sacrifice of Abram. How he set before You the animals You have prescribed. How this became a pleasing sacrifice to You, O Lord. How Abram obeyed.)
Sacrifice requires Trust. (Yes, Lord. I bow before You, O Glorious King!!)
It is the presentation, yes. Arranged by the heart of the one who brings forth the sacrifice. It is the heart who trusts that is the matter. That such sacrifice would have meaning to Me. (My God! Abba!!) [.....I recognize our Father.....]
Child, you know Me. (Abba, I Love You!!)
All sacrifice rendered to Me is pleasing to Me. For, in Truth, it is rendered on the smouldering, burning Love of the heart who brings it. You see, the sacrifice is the outward sign of the heart surrendered into Love. I am Love. And I Love you. (Abba, I Love YOU!!)
Child, these written words are an exercise of your Love for Me. (My Lord, thank You for making this "work" holy. For like Abram's little animals, the meaning enters because You accept us, O Lord. Because You invite us, O Lord. To be in You!! What other meaning can there be in this Life, but YOU?)
Child, in Truth, God has no need for man. It is that I choose to need you. And I have fallen in Love with My creation. And I have Desired an intimate relationship with you. And so, I have nurtured you with My Love and courted you for these oh, so many years. Abram's sacrifice, yours of words, all the others. Each, so unique. Each My treasure. You, O mankind, bear treasure to Me. It is your heart!
Children! Some see dead animals. [.....ref. to Abram's sacrifice] I see the life in the heart before Me. The yearning to know Me. To please Me. I see the little things offered that go unnoticed by the world. I receive all kindness from you. I am your Father Who Loves you.
And what of My Son and the Transfiguring moment? There is a Purpose to everything of God. Dear children, it is a way for you to know that the Glory of God abounds. That God is in your midst. To see that My Son has become among you, the Pleasing Sacrifice, the Sacrificial Lamb. The Fulfillment of all Prophecy. The One of Whom all else were predisposed to: the sacrifice of Abram, the taking up of Elijah. All are in prefigurement to the Sacrifice and Life of My Son. And I do not leave you orphans. No! I bring you into the moment of Glory! That you might participate in My Life. Here and now.
But the concern is: where is your heart? Can you only see dead animals, carcasses upon which the birds of prey swoop? Can you only see the mystery of Elijah's being taken up? A mystery with no clear resolve? Can you only see the dark cloud that rests upon you? Or do you enter and see the Glory of God in your midst?
Many things occur which defy a full explanation. I am God. I am Mystery. But children, if there is meaning, if there is Truth, it shall be revealed to you. You still may not fully understand all that occurs in your midst, but with an open heart before Me, I shall infuse into you My Wisdom and Understanding. You will grow in Trust in Me. You will grow in Virtue. What is for you to do, is to make sure that you remain open to My Ways. Do not seek them. I will present them to you. Little acts of obedience will be easier, even in the face of worldly scorn.
Lambs, the footprints around you can at first frighten you, and so, you flee. Will you come to Me, for I can protect you and I can instruct you. And you will grow in Me. You might, afterall, flee from the very lesson I provide to you. Dark clouds can be ominous, but they can contain the very Glory of God. It is a matter of perspective. The perspective of the heart. Your heart in Mine.
And so, the Words. This sacrifice rendered to Me which I share with you. They are Mine. My Own Testament of My Love for you. I teach you Here. I grow you Here. Some see dead animals here. I see covenant. Some see a dark cloud here. But YOU, O child, have entered. And you have found My Glory. Here is My Beloved Son in Whom I am well pleased. Here is your Abba, Me Who Loves you so. Here is the Very Spirit of God, proclaiming God's Love for all humankind. It is a matter of Love. Of Trust. Of being willing to enter God's Glory, fully. Be aware of the footprints around you. Child, they may be My Own.
I bless you now, with My Fatherly Love. My Hand is upon you. My Hand upholds you. My Love supports you. My Word feeds you. Little child, come and BE in My Glory. I, your Father, invite you. Come to Me, little one. I am your Home. Amen. +
