Live Jesus
Sixth Sunday of Easter, May 9, 1999
Dear Jesus and Holy Mother,
[The Lord speaks.....]
Today we shall have a story. Sit quietly, now, while I tell the tale. It is
about a little sheep. A little sheep within a fold. Gentle and kind. Let
us pretend it is you. You, O little one, who reads, who writes. Let us begin.
Since the moment of its birth, the little lamb thought of itself as very wonderful!
Yet, day by day, those around it began to say things which made the little sheep
feel not only ordinary, but rejected, rejected by the flock. Now I ask you, how
could a sheep who looks precisely like the rest, be different? See? It is the
difference on the inside. I am the Good Shepherd and I know Mine and Mine know Me.
So one day, the little sheep happened to be closer to the shepherd than any other
day. The shepherd picked up the lamb and fondled it and Loved it and whispered many
things to it. In that moment, the sheep felt so entirely different. Yes, he
could only "baah" like the rest, and he looked like the rest, but he knew he had
changed. He knew he had been changed. I am the Font of Life.
And the sheep was placed again within the fold. But his newness was apparent
to all around him. And soon enough, the flock was pushing ever closer to the
shepherd. For those who follow recognize a Good Leader in their midst.
Life continued day by day and the flock so happily followed their Shepherd.
Such a union was seen and felt among them. A tenderness. A growth.
A flock like no other before. A Shepherd like no one before Him.
And then one day, the Shepherd died. The flock returned to its scared little
self. The lamb who was once held by the Shepherd felt alone. All which had
become Truth was now mixing with confusion. Had it all been a dream? Had the
words whispered by the Shepherd been True? Hope seemed lost.....yet not. For
the change which had occurred in the little sheep left a sincere desire to look for the
Shepherd; to find Him, no matter what, beyond death, into Eternity.
The day was great. The sun was blazing. Promise and Hope were in the
air. I am the Resurrection. I am the Life. I am the Good Shepherd.
I know Mine and Mine know Me.
And for a time, the Shepherd travelled with the flock. Once again, they were a
union. Happily, the little lamb followed. Hoping and trusting that all would
be well. I must ascend to My Father in Heaven.
Sadly, yet happily, the little sheep looked on as the scene of his Shepherd grew in
magnitude! There in such brilliance, was He ascending from the earth.....the
Shepherd. Just as He had said! He was always in fulfillment of His Word.
And He promised. He would send a Paraclete. A Spirit. His Own.
The sheep pondered these thoughts. He wanted to ask, "How can this
be?" But then.....all ELSE had been, just as the Master, the Shepherd, had
said. The change evoked within him caused him to Hope, to Hope for the fulfillment
of every Word the Shepherd had ever uttered.
Behold, I am with you always. Even until the End of Time. I am Promise.
I am Hope. I am Love. I am Spirit. I am God. I am the Gift,
the Promised Paraclete. And I have come to be Breath within your own. I am
Life where death prevails. I am God. I am Spirit. Holy Spirit. And
I enter every heart where I am welcomed. And I wait for every heart to open fully to
Me. I take advantage, Holy Advantage, of every opportunity you afford Me. I am
the Promised Gift of Jesus. I am He of Whom He spoke. I am the Holy Spirit.
And I enter. And I guide; those who would follow.
And the sheep followed. Because they knew. Because they believed.
Because the Promise was fulfilled in their hearing. Because the Shepherd's
Words are Truth and Life. And because in fulfillment of the Promise, the Spirit
leads. And the sheep follow. And God is pleased. And to live such a life
would be Life lived happily ever after. Amen.
